Remove the cover and add more foam. Maybe replace the cover too

all used cars have same seat damage. when driver gets into car, he seat first on an edge, then move butt in a middle of seat, or driver leaning left elbow on door support, therefore shifting body weight to the edge. or some people just heavy and have wide butt. Toyota sells seat cover only.

I know the Limited isnt raised, but I need to lift up to get over the edge of the seat, otherwise, I do drag my butt across it. That is a big problem.
I do have steps to get in and a grab handle to assist, but, it is too late, as it is flaking too.
I saw how to take this apart, its a time consuming job to do..

I am 5'10" 210. Not too fat, but it is what it is. I think the girl who owned it before me was a chubby chick. A lot of candy was found after the fact in the carpet under the seat, drivers seat.. Its a clue, not absolute.

Pretty much every used 4Runner you come across is going to be like this. You can hide it with a form-fitting seat cover, like Wet Okole.

My 18 Limited is no different. I plan on driving it until it won’t drive anymore. While it bothers me a little it doesn’t bother me enough to throw money at it yet.

You’ll have to remove and dismantle the seat to be able to remove the leather “skin” and then get some seat foam and cut/sculpt it to fill that area again. A vehicle upholstery shop could do it for you as well

I watched a video. Looks like a lot of work. Or take the plastic off and see if I can squeeze foam in there.
Or, put a patch on it. With something cool written. Or just seat cover

It is quite a bit of work but not super difficult. Up to you as the owner if it’s worth it. I would let the leather wear out a bit more and replace the skin at the same time. Katzkin or Leatherseats can sell you replacements

But, 5'10" and 210# is going to be a lot wider than 6'3" and 210#. So, in theory it's going to put a lot more stress on the bolsters.

Seriously. When you get in, you rub against the edge of the seat, squishing that part of the seat that creases. It is super thin and very poor quality, as it flakes very easy..

I am planning to find an try one of the leather repair kits to fix the issue before it gets worse for me. I can send pics / updates on the outcome of that work.
