    Ok this is getting annoying.

Automakers aren't puting 4-cyl turbos because they WANT to; but because they HAVE TO!

The EPA and the EU have strict emissions regulations. Get that through your head already!

They didn't. TRD Jon goes over it and they fold down just fine. There does seem to be a slight unevenness due to the hybrid batteries though.

That was me. I'm glad I'm wrong too.

I'm surprised one factory is simultaneously making LC250s for the US, LC250 Prados for everywhere else, and now 4runners.

Their official video also shows the second row folded. Didn’t see it folded like I can the 5th gen.

Toyota did not make a big deal over this like the Tacoma though with the Hawaii show and tons of journalists.

It’s too bad. I’ve been a fan for a long time and yes due to government bureaucracy and 4 bangers and efficiency it’s a sad change.

Too add to that in all seriousness the simplicity of the 4Runner has gone away. That was the appeal for many including myself.

Rear mounted 12v battery and small rear floor storage space will throw a curve for drawer systems.

God damn it they gave it $#@$ing red turn signals. Statistically speaking you'd be better off ditching the 3rd brake light.

Yep. They just got lazy on this rollout. All the marketing money was clearly spent in Hawaii with the big Luau and dinner the night before for everyone.

Oh I know. It still sucks and I will drive a 4.0 until I die. Had a Ford 2.0 turbo and it ran circles around my 3.5 Tacoma. I was just smart enough to sell it at 70k miles before the ecoboost did a ecoboom. 4 cylinder turbo engines will never equal or surpass the longevity of non turbos. That is a fact.

Um... Sequoia and Tundra have V6. Lol

But you're right. 4 banger + turbos from here on out for 4Runner. Just have to get used to it.

Exactly, have no choice but to embrace it. I embraced it a long time ago with my GTI. I love 4-cyl turbos.

But they also make 6 cylinder turbos, so it is not like they don't have any 6 cylinder engines being put in new vehicles being made today.

I still think it's a bit weird that they've made it the same size as the LC250. But, I guess I'm not terribly concerned about the wheelbase. Heck, I wheel with Tacomas, even a few DCLB's, and they do fine.

I'm going to have to see it in person before I really decide if I like it.

I saw some comments about how the rear seats fold. I'm not sure if I like it. But, I wonder if these will be easier to remove to install a platform. Not that the current seats are particularly hard, though.

My favorite one is the off road premium, can be had without a hybrid option.

The way you guys talk about the I4 you'd think it's some terminal disease.

Come on it's not that bad. I have one in mine. Once you pass denial and enter acceptance you'll appreciate the fact it has half the number of head gaskets.

Just took this in video. Does not appear to go flat if you want to sleep in it anymore. Maybe a different trim

My guess is that they are allowed to use the turbo V6 in the bigger trucks because of their weight and size category. I am sure they have the regulations based on size/weight.
