2011 Toyota 4runner

After taking it with the Toyota dealer mechanic we have found out that there is surface rust. Here are some photos of the car, let us know what you think?

the vehicle was in east coast Massachusetts for 6 years before it transferred to owner in Bay Area California.

There was some under coating done but not properly.

The right rear wheel bearing was worked on but it looks like there was some leakage.

Other then that, there is no other oil leak, transmission fluid/ transfer case leak.

 

Looks clean. The control arm can be replaced

 

So after the mechanic checked it, we found out that right rear axle seal is leaking. Lower and upper ball joins are starting to leak grease. Let us know if there is anything major to worry about

 

If there is mainaintence records of oil changes, transmission, tranfers case and coolant changes, it looks good. Get the cost to fix the items and deduct it from the asking price.

 

You didn’t mention mileage, but I’d double check that the actual bearings are all in good condition (front and rear). The rear bearings require a press to replace so as long as you’re pulling the rear axle…

Trim level? Paint condition? Service history? 4WD?

 

It is 4wheel drive, the paint condition is great! It is a SR5

 

How many owners? Any accidents reported? Price seems fair.

That price is high blue book. So if it's in really clean condition seem good.

 

Here is more details on the 4Runner 2011, 3 owners, no damages. 4x4, 195k mileage. The Toyota mechanic said “lower and upper ball joints are starting to leak grease.” Please refer to the picture and the photo of the Toyota pre-purchase inspection report. (The price he’s asking is $13,500)

 

Monitors being reset is not good. No need to do that unless you are hiding a check engine light.

 

Yes, I’d ask the seller what’s up with that.
