Teenagers with too much time (and daddy's money) circle the Walmart and Sonic parking lots endlessly. Pissing off the local old people because they play loud music and have annoying exhausts.

What camera did you use? How long was the install? Happy with the video quality? I’d love to do this soon. Great job!

Warm night in the garage, so on with the skid plate. Genuine Toyota, not CTH.
    Installed with Sakers stud/button mod/method https://www.4runners.com/threads/trd-skid-plate-mounted-w-studs-2010-2021.27082/

    I
suppose it would look better if more lifted since I am just an inch up front. But it is a nice aesthetic mod.
    May add black letters, dunno.
Popped on stronger liftgate gas struts also. Now it goes up nice nice even with the ladder installed.

It's the Cali Raised Anytime kit. The kit itself seemed good quality. I think it took about 2.5 hours. I took my sweet time because I really did not want to scratch stuff up. But of course I did. It's so freaking easy to scratch shit when you pull stereos, especially when you have to let things hang. I scratched the passenger airbag indicator with the metal head bracket. Dammit. It's hard to tell, but still... I had put a blanket over everything else but didn't watch what I was doing on that.

If there was a difficult part, it's the camera install itself. I put the camera as far back to the grill as possible, centered above the radar, and sure enough there's a flange on the inside/top that made it difficult to get the nut on. It is a tight fit in there. Not sure how it would have gone had I not pulled the grill forward a bit. Tip's N Trick's here - take a correct sized socket (I forgot the size...12MM maybe?) and slide the wire through it and over the nut. Use pliers on the socket to snug it up.

The video quality itself is just a little bit worse than the stock backup camera, for reference sake. (EDIT - after further review, the video quality is the same as the stock backup camera. Just a different color gradient.) Good enough though, I think. Haven't tested it on any sort of varied surface yet, like big rocks. Hopefully it has enough contrast in those cases, but I think it will. I had to laugh a little because I found myself watching the screen to drive it back to the house, instead of out the windshield. It's not good enough for that. Perceived distances are out of whack, because of the fish-eye perspective. So watching it under speed screws with how fast it seems things are going. "Objects in the camera will be on you faster than they appear."

One other thing; the instructions specifically mention tying a red wire from the camera harness to the 2 green wires from the other harnesses, but at some point they changed the red camera harness wire color to match the green. Which make sense, but they didn't fix the instructions. Also also, in the instructions the first pictures of the back of the head unit are for earlier years. The picture after that are for later years. Took me a minute to figure that out.

Sorry for the wall of text. :) Best of luck on yours!

Not just today but a project over the past few days.

made trim panels out of ABS and magnets for the boss strongbox and then some Amazon dividers that are pressure fit to keep stuff from sliding around

    IMG_9834.jpg IMG_9835.jpg IMG_9848.jpg

keep some side of the road gear, IFAK, and some work equipment in it typically.

This is the structure parallel to the radiator... it is a stiff area, it should not be shaking to rub anything, I think it's just a shitty paint job...

3"/2" Ironman lift, Method 703 wheels, K02's, Pedal Commander, more to come
Correction to my previous comment... The video quality of the Cali Raised camera is the same as the stock backup camera. The color gradient is different, warmer than the backup, but after looking at trees on my way to work this morning, I would say the clarity is the same.

Compete suspension overhaul. New UCA, LCA, sway links, bushings, shocks, mounts front and rear. Everything OEM.
Got an alignment just now. Hopefully this is the end of suspension work on the vehicle during my ownership.
