This was not a guarantee, the Sequoia lost this feature. I'm really glad to see it continued. Not so glad that the car is still as large as a 5th gen and that plastic thing in the middle looks like it came out of a 3d printer. Not a fan of the ipad screen, I'd rather have it be integrated into the dash. But still looking good. Link to article

Hopefully, everything isn't on the big screen and has actual buttons and knobs for HVAC controls and a few other things.

It's looking great so far. Love the large 14" screen. The new GX is more tempting though. Just waiting for all of the new guinea pigs to test it out.

Love it so far, haven't seen the front yet. That may change things. LOL
Love the infotainment size and placement. And the vents below the screen.
Love the actually decent looking tail lights without shit loads of chrome.
Don't personally love the previous pic of the lower valence.

I couldn't agree more. There's hardly any design element to stick a big tablet outside of the dash like this. Rather it be integrated, so much cleaner looking.

Where did you read it's as large as 5th gen? I'm asking because the GX550 and Tacoma both grew by about 4" in width and height. The way things are looking, the growth from 5th gen to 6th gen will be similar in magnitude to the growth from 3rd gen T4R to 4th/5th gen.

Integrated into the dash is more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, i feel like manufacturers think it makes it look more modern but it looks like an afterthought

I would love it if that massive 14" screen was more like a foldable phone screen...I'm not digging such a massive footprint that sticks well above the dashboard. A good buddy drives a loaded RAM 1500 Laramie and even with the 12" screen it's tucked down so it doesn't protrude about the dashboard lines.

Roof, roof rails, spoiler, fin, side view mirrors, upper part of hatch looks pretty much the same.

Back to silver roof rails, dafuq?

I don't mind the tablet as long as all the physical controls for HVAC and a physical volume knob are still present.

Are they just releasing pictures of one bit at a time? Gay. Just show us the fucking thing already.

    Tint. Blackout badges.
I think the problem with integrating a screen this large into the dash could only be achieved by integrating all of the HVAC controls into the screen itself, which I personally cannot stand. Previous fords and Chryslers I have rented for work have these all in one screens and they were both poorly executed and more of a distraction especially when trying to change anything while driving. I personally like the screen placement and size on the new BOF trucks but even if I didn't, I would take that over everything functioning through a screen.

I'm guessing they showed us the back window because it's the only thing we haven't already seen. Will get the Tacoma interior and borrowed designs from Sequoia and Tacoma for the exterior.

Do the new tacos have the AC controls on the Ipad? If so, the 4runner will too

It is speculating. But walk into a dealership and check out the Sequoia and Tundra interiors. They are exactly the same. Even the air vent shapes. Same steering wheel. Same dash. Same center console.

And they have the same engine.

I meant that I didn't like that it was at least as large as the current 5th gen. I really wont like the new size if it's going to be even bigger than it already is, thats basically a full size SUV

And, if you zoom in on the new 4Runner pic, you can see start button and center knob. Same location / layout as new Tacoma.

Many who hate the large screen slightly higher than normal are missing one key safety component: HUDs (Heads Up Displays) were designed originally so that your head isn't looking down when you're traveling 100 feet per second in a 6,000 pound piece of steel. So while it may be a little on the large side, from a safety standpoint it's a much better option. In addition, the current 4R radio / display is definitely too small / dim, and too low. I also hope while they're at it, they backlit some of the controls (like they did on the 2024 Taco). The 5th gen 4R is definitely lacking in this area. Mirror switches aren't illuminated, nor are several other switches on the lower left side. My two pennies...

Not an actual HUD...just a raised up display (same concept / purpose of a HUD)...
