    Good Afternoon All!

Ive recently purchased a bit of a fixer upper. One of the most annoying issues is the sound from the front door speakers is really muffled. There's still sound but its super bassy and sounds like its underwater. They don't have any of the buzzing, static, or scratching that's symptomatic of a blown speaker though. Whats super odd to me is that the dash speakers sound great(as great as the stock JBLs can sound) even though they're in series. I would think if the doors were fubar the dash would be too. I have tried enabling and disabling the ASL and adjusting the fade & balance with no effect.

When i initially started troubleshooting it was only the passenger speaker that had this issue. I tried swapping the known good(at the time) driver speaker in to verify if it was the speaker or the cabling. Now they're both muffled. :annoyed:

has anyone experienced something similar? What are your thoughts?

Your factory speakers in front work like component speakers. Your door speakers are not full range and have no HF, the dash speakers handle the rest of the spectrum in front. What you describe is how it is intended to work.
