On my 2023 SR5 I pulled the head unit looking for an obvious cable going to the GPS antenna which, I believe, is located under the dash -- or at least it was on earlier 5th generations.

Does anyone know which cable coming out of the back of the head unit goes to the GPS antenna? I have also wondered if they moved the GPS antenna to the shark fin on the roof or perhaps that is for SiruxXM? I think the FM/AM antenna is in the rear quarter window.

Anyway, any thoughts on this would be appreciated -- or ideas where I might find a wiring diagram for that head unit.

From you picture I believe you do not have the navigation box below your head unit
Do you actually have navigation on your unit?

No I do not have any navigation on my head unit. I thought that the antenna was factory installed and connected to the head unit and the navigation software was an upgrade that could be installed later. I say this because a friend with an earlier 5th Gen wanted to install navigation in his head unit and went out and bought a GPS antenna. When he went to install the antenna to the head unit he discovered that the antenna was already installed despite the fact that the 4Runner was not delivered with navigation.

Is there a navigation box separate from the head unit?

Edit: I just saw your response to Steely in a different thread about the navigation box being a separate unit. If that's so then I don't have a GPS antenna and the infotainment system is not recording location data. Correct?

I'm not sure what this means. The DCM is completely different form the infotainment system. My DCM has been disabled since I took ownership. The infotainment system is a separate issue.
