I am trying to figure out what the black, plastic cover part is in the images. It is located at the bottom of the block where it attaches to the bell housing of the transmission just above the lower oil pan. It is a black, plastic cover that has some wiggle to it. I am sure it is for some sort of access or inspection point of access. Questions for those who know more than me - what is that part, what is it for, and should it have some wiggle / play to it. Not knowing what it is, i would think it should not have any wiggle to it. Curious if maybe i have a loose fit and maybe it needs replacing or maybe a new gasket (if it even has a gasket around it). I hope this question is not too silly - i just don’t know what it is or what it is for. So much so, I could not even accurately describe it for an on-line search to try to figure it out myself. Thanks in advance.

It’s just an inspection port. Maybe you can access the torque converter bolts from it.
