Damn, his fuel pump is way cheaper than the OEM Toyota one I looked up.
Good idea on the gasket though, will add that.

Pretty sure my dual zone climate control went out yesterday. Was driving home at night had the heater blasting and all of a sudden outside temp air (cool but not cold) starts blowing out of the drivers side vents but hot kept coming out of the passenger side vents. Any ideas on specific parts to replace? Actuator?

Did you take a crack at fixing it yourself? It's often pretty straightforward.

I installed a 5th gen 4Runner 70mm throttle body with a URD adapter plate today. I managed to keep the stock air box but had to ditch the stock engine cover because the studs no longer line up. The stock clamp also had to go, because it wasn’t physically big enough, so that was swapped out with a hose clamp that I had on hand. I reset the battery and it idled down to around 700rpm after warming up so I’d call that a win. Also installed a new sealed AGM battery today and some new hood struts yesterday

Not that it is your post you linked, but any reason to go with OEM over the Denso fuel pump assembly that guy used, outside cost obviously?

Has anyone installed the new remote start that bypasses the engine shut off when you open the door yet? Looks like it’s fairly new from Accessorides?

just picked up a 2024 ORP and considering buying it but I don’t trust myself to install because from the video, screwing around near the airbag freaks me out haha

Not really. I was able to get the OEM parts for close to aftermarket cost with Toyota’s online discount so I decided to go that route.

Lots with more in the works
OEM is Denso, so it shouldn't make a difference.

Here’s some dyno testing done by OTT. Basically the stock intake manifold is 70mm and the stock TB is 65mm so the 70 is a better port match to the intake and is better for flow. Looks like it’s worth a few hp and tq, and only cost about $200 for everything. One of the more cost effective performance mods imo

Installed some Greenlane aluminum sliders/steps today. Beautiful welds and they fit perfect. Also only weigh 25lbs per side, so about 50lbs lighter than steel per side. For the light use this thing will see, they are perfect for me.

Installed some new axles today. Turns out the previous owner threw some cheap ones on from China, all 4 boots were torn.
Shout out CVJ in Denver for the rebuilt OEM with a longer boot. Ready for a lift once my wallet is!IMG_3795.jpg IMG_1520.jpgAlso replaced the front diff fluid and axle oil seals.

Fuel pump and fuel sending unit replaced. The old fuel pump was fine but the sending unit wouldn’t read properly below 1/4 tank, so figured I’d do both while having it done.

DIY or a shop? And I assume it fixed your issue?

Shop, I unfortunately don’t have much time to work on any of my vehicles with my little one running around. $320 for labor. Sucks, especially since in my day I have changed fuel pumps before and they aren’t difficult.

I’ll know if it truly fixed my issue soon. I had like a little above 1/4 today… I’ll run it down to almost empty to see if it leaves me stranded at 1/8th tank like it has before. I’ll report back.

Hey, no judgement here. I do nearly all my own work but decided dropping the tank just wasn't worth it so I also hired a shop. Got some instant validation on that decision too. They got it back together but the fuel system wouldn't hold pressure. Turns out the fuel pump hadn't come with an o-ring so they had to install one then reassemble and test. Yeah, the thought of me in my garage trying to sort that out...

I enjoy working on cars but ya, you’re right, some things I just don’t want to do anymore. I probably would’ve tried to tackle this one though if I could.

I’m down to 40 miles left to empty per the center instrument cluster and the fuel guage looks to be more accurate than before when getting this low. So, I would say this was a success. I’m going to run it till the gas light comes on, probably tomorrow, just to see. Before I knew about the miles to empty, it showed 1/8th tank and no gas light when I ran out of gas.

Definitely fixed my issue. Got her down to 19 miles till empty, gas light came on around 25 miles to empty, cluster fuel guage was completely accurate where it should have been.

Glad to hear that. Feels good when you fork over a bunch of money but the problem goes away. I felt the same way after I had my sending unit replaced.
