Hello! I'm about to do a DIY tranny fluid flush and fill on my '03 limited w/4.7. Can anyone confirm the fluid flow direction thru the cooler mounted in front of the radiator? I'm assuming
the bottom is inlet but that's using common sense which sometimes doesn't apply. (see US Government) Anyway, I 'm hoping to get some help. Thanks!

You have a 2003, just drain from the pan and refill from the dip stick. The cooler method is slow as shit, sucks doing and isn't necessary with the 03 or 04 since they have a trans dipstick.

I'm not sure which line is the correct line at the cooler, but linked below is a topic that tells you which line is which back at the transmission, you can then follow the lines to the cooler to know which line to use.

Note: Just an FYI his is a 2004 V8, which has the sealed transmission, your 2003 is not the sealed transmission but otherwise should be much the same as the sealed one but there could be differences, the other difference if I'm not mistaken is the non-sealed 5 speed uses the older ATF and not the WS ATF, just be sure you use the correct ATF!

I probably always get it wrong but I could have sworn the 04 also had the dipstick. My bad.

But, he said he has an 03. So i would skip the cooling line exchange for that still.

He says a "flush" you can't do a flush simply draining the pan, only a "drain and fill", you need to exchange all the fluid, the best way to do that is via the lines, he can still fill thru the dip stick tube.

The 2003 V8 and V6 has a dip stick, the 2004 V6 does as well, the 2004 V8 however is the first application in a T4R of the sealed 5 speed transmission, all engines V6s and V8s after that has the sealed transmission.
