Hi, everyone. I just bought a new 2024 4Runner TRD Offroad Premium. This is my first post. I am trying to find out if Toyota service is being truthful or if something more serious is going on. See the attached image of what I believe is called the engine valve cover. Notice how crazy and cracked it appears. The head mechanic at the dealer said these are normal casting marks from the molding process when the part is transferred into sand. And I do know sometimes they don't clean up less visible parts for cost reasons... but I would like to know what you all think. Can I see your engine valve covers to compare? I feel worried.

Casting marks not a big deal. Someone just posted about this recently

Ok, thank you. It looks shocking but it's comforting to know that it is normal at least.

No big deal. It happens. It's also under warranty. Anything happens, they can take it back.

I just posted about it. I got a new ORP at the beginning of the month and it also has those marks. It runs great and no leaks.
