Tacoma Owner Looking at 4Runners

I'm a long time Tacoma owner and love my truck. Since my son bought a Tacoma, I've been considering selling my truck for a 4Runner. I love Toyotas, 5 in our family, and since I'm an old timer I think a 4Runner would better suit me. I'm looking forward to gathering info from the forum to help make my decision.

From a former Taco owner

 

I went from a 2nd Gen Taco to 5th Gen 4R. If you use the bed for anything, you're going to miss having it. Otherwise, I'd say the 4R is a better vehicle all around

 

One of the things pushing me toward the 4Runner is that my son now also has a Tacoma. So, if I need the use of a pickup bed, there's one in the family.

 

Its not impossible, I hauled mulch in the back with a tarp, its just a pain in the ass. If you've got access to a truck, just send it.

 

I don't miss my pick-up bed very often. I just hook up to my small trailer that holds more than the bed of a truck. I do however, use the extra interior space of the 4Runner almost daily.

 

Welcome from Wisconsin! We went from a Tacoma to a 4Runner, you will adjust. it's nice to have things under a climate controlled roof. Go get the 4Runner.. you can do it!

The main question is, do you use the bed?

If not, the 4R is an all around better vehicle than the 3rd gen Tacoma.

 

Went from a Tundra to a Tacoma and now a 5th gen 4Runner, best decision I’ve ever made. Like Rob41 said, I too have a 16’ flatbed trailer that I could hook-up if I needed a run to Home Depot or the dump. The additional cabin space and smooth ride is an additional perk. I do know for a fact that new car prices have softened up and some dealers are offering 2-5% off Msrp. Don’t wait too long, this is the last year for the best generation 4Runner ever made. I’m retired and throughly enjoying driving my new rig, you will too. Welcome to the forum!

welcome, like others said i have a small 4x8 harbor freight trailer when needed. if someone needs help moving i offer trailer, not my old truck bed
