Offered as free service at dealership two times at 5K and 10K does nothing for you, if 4Runner suspension not damaged in accident or just careless contact with curb. And you feel it instantly that something is wrong and needs an alignment. Continue to drive and one tire will wear more.
I have a problem with dealership(s), as they damage vehicle in process of servicing it (and during recall). Tighten log nuts to the point of damaging hub or wheel, cross threading, etc. And who continue to run tires to the tire wear indicator? All tire shops loaded with used tires with 50% tire life. It tells me that we buy replacement tires more when we feel like it, not when it really need. Like for off-road. If you care to rotate your tires, do it yourself with good torque wrench, just not get crazy about it. I one tire visibly worn, replace all for something better handling on wet hwy to improve stopping. Rant over.

Tire rotation should be done at every service interval (5000 miles). Sure, any damage or alignment issues will cause abnormal tire wear, but if you don't rotate your tires, your steer wheels are naturally going to wear more than your drive wheels, simply due to the nature of what they do. You can't generalize all dealerships to damage vehicles during service. Sure, it happens, and most likely due to an inexperienced person pulling and installing tires. I mean really, you could teach a monkey to do that stuff. I run tires to the wear indicator. Always have. Those things are expensive, and I'm going to get every last penny I spent on them. If I'm going off-road, I use a little more care in choosing what I go over. You are correct about torque values. Super important. If one lug is over-torqued on modern aluminum wheels, it can have the same effect as a wheel being out of balance. Bottom line is, everyone is going to run their tires to different lengths. It's going to vary depending on each individual situation. Use some common sense, regularly rotate your tires, and all will be well.

My guess, judging by the time stamp, dude was up late and maybe having a few cocktails. If not, well, I don't know what to say. Maybe we can get a translation tomorrow @Startrek?

I totally get the rant! Not that I agree with the particulars. Currently all the dealerships are lacking in experienced techs/ mechanics. (Over generalized statement but you get the idea). Right now I have to do a cost benefit analysis when it comes to taking my 4 Runner to the dealership for anything. You can go there for a wiper blade and leave with a dent that you would have to prove whether it was there prior.

I watched the the YouTube video of the guy in Canada w/ his Army Green TRD Pro and I was amazed at all the bad luck he had at the dealerships. (3 master cylinders, two paint jobs, one of which he had to pay for because he couldn’t prove the dealership caused the damage.)

So I have a platinum warranty that I will drive to another city to use because my local dealership is so bad.

If I ever did, I would be much merrier, i guess, and really wouldn't care about anything - that's the idea of smoking ?
Drinking is much better by uniting people - we would never cross Delaware sober. One can only hope ...

If OP is saying that dealers suck, and that we benefit when we use discretion on dealer provided maintenance, well yup! I avoid at all costs if possible. And when it can't be avoided, the cringing and post service inspection commences. They always leave chaos in their wake. If not for warranty stuff they'd never see my vehicles. Even then it depends lol.

Again, a generalization. They don't always leave chaos in their wake. I have experience with two different manufacturers service centers. Toyota and Audi. The experience is vastly different between the two, with Audi being superior in all aspects. I think it's different because younger, less experienced people are more likely to get a job at a Toyota service center. You might say it's more entry level, therefore you're going to get mistakes and less care in handling of your vehicle. Remember, the service techs only do the work. They don't move the cars from point A to point B. Your car goes through a lot of hands in it's time at the dealership. I too avoid them at all costs, but for some things it just can't be avoided, especially warranty work. You are correct in stating that a thorough post-service inspection needs to be done, but that's just common sense.

Although my current 4R is out of warranty now, I've done my own maintenance on the different Toyota's that I've owned.
My first brand new Toyota purchase was in '93 with a 4x4 3L, V6 HiLux. Its first issue was the head gasket recall.
The dealer that I bought it from, repaired it and bumped up the drive train warranty, which was quite comforting in long run.
That was a good visit in my book.

Another good visit was with a '10 Rav4, 3.5L V6. The day before a 3 week vacation, the passenger side seatbelt retractor decided to lock up at full extension. I called the dealer that we bought it from and they said to bring it in for warranty work.
This particular dealer had a cafe in the showroom area. So after I finished my ham & sausage scramble w/extra jalapeños, I was checking out the '74 Land Cruiser in their showroom and was approached by a lovely lady telling me that my Rav was done.
This was at Crown Toyota in Ontario, CA.

And full disclosure, I've had a few bad ones at different dealers too.

Has anyone else had a good visit to a dealership?

Yep, in general, dealerships suck. My S4 experience confirms that Audi is no better. Neither is Infiniti or Lexus. I've experienced regional differences for sure, but I conclude that one uses dealerships at their own peril. One thing to consider if you don't think so is how would you know short of castastrophic damage? Often what I've found is parts not properly installed, tools left behind, scuff/scratches, fluid spills, missing/broken/over-torqued fasteners. Just crude handling. If you don't know the difference or even look, well then I guess one might conclude that everything is fine. My apologies to the 1 in 4 techs out there who are true pros.

Best Infiniti experience for me overall was in Greenville, SC. And even then I had to re-fix a simple warranty repair involving an interior temperature sensor. The dash panels weren't properly assembled, leaving misalignments/gaps. At least nothing was damaged, so I call that one a win. That job was probably given to a "C" tech. With "A" techs you wouldn't even know they were in there so to speak. And since stuff rolls downhill, all the dysfunction above the techs falls into theirs laps, further compounding things.
