Break pedal moves when starting. Is this of concern?

I have a 2024 4runner off road. Less then 1000km on it. Occasionally when I start it, the break pedal goes down while the engine is starting. Is this normal for a 4runner?

I came from a Tundra with a push bottom start and the pedal never moved when starting.

 

My 4Runner does this too. I assume it is normal.

 

Yeah it's normal for hydraulic-boosted brakes and I'm guessing your Tundra was vaccuum-boosted like most vehicles. 4Runner and other ATRAC/MTS vehicles like TRDOR Tacos use hydro instead. It's also why they have the firmer pedal.

 

In the 4Runner, the brakes get power assist with electrical power on; it doesn't rely on the engine idling to build vacuum.
