    3 inch lift
    Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a possible diagnosis for 2 incidents that I've had in the last 7 days. My car is a 2015 4 Runner SR5 Trail Edition with a 3 inch lift.

    1) Last week I was accelerating up a slight hill from a set of lights (probably going 20-30km/hr) when my traction control kicked in and my brakes engaged. I lost the ability to brake on my own or accelerate. I pulled over and it came to a stop. I turned the car off and restarted it and it didn't happen again on that commute. Roads were damp from snow melt but not fully covered.

    2) Today I was coming off the highway (going around 90-100 km/hr but decelerating), when my traction control kicked in again and my brakes engaged. My car started fish tailing and I lost the ability to brake or control my vehicle. It eventually put me in the shoulder and I slammed on the brakes in hopes to have it stop doing what it was doing. Roads were completely dry.

It is currently at Toyota waiting to be diagnosed but the girl didn't seem hopeful that they will be able to diagnose it as she has "never" heard of that happening to someone.

Any ideas of where to start?

Wheel speed sensors would be my first guess. That or the computer is damaged some how.

Hopefully it’s not the ABS controller. $$$

I’ve seen a couple of reports where the TSS sensor plate gets a layer of snow on it and either triggering or disabling the automatic braking system.
