when I click the tail gate button to lower the back window. It rolls down an inch at a time, some time when I hit the switch, it does not move but I can hear the motor moving.

I took off the rear panel, everything seems to be fine.

    any ideas
    thanks in advance

So, it sounds like the auto-down function needs to be reset to start with. Usually this is because the battery was disconnected for whatever reason. Any window/sunroof that has an auto function needs to be reset for travel limits after a power loss.

Roll the window all the way down by holding the button until movement of the window stops.
Roll the window all the way up by holding the button until movement stops.
Test the auto function for proper operation.

Try those steps first, again for each window or the sunroof that has an auto-down function. If you still can't get it working, I would try resetting everything by disconnecting the battery for 10 to 30 minutes and then reconnect it and do the reset steps again.

Update: took off the ground from the battery 15min and still having the same issue.

the 3rd time I rested the battery, the window went down more than an 1 inch but after that, it went back to going inch by inch.
