So Gary, does this act as a skid also or no?

It does. It would be useful for fending off road debris and the like. I wouldn't imagine it would take large offroad abuse, but it does cover all the way across.

I can put a micrometer on it if you'd like. Per the MillerCat site, it is 16 ga. stainless steel. They make a 12 ga. stainless cat shield, but not for a KDSS 4R.

Thanks, no need for the micrometer.

Would this fit my 2015 SR5 2WD model?

I believe so, as the MillerCat site says in it's fitment guide that it fits RWD/4WD in these years:

    upload_2024-5-31_11-25-54.png

If you go to the MillerCat site, and look at this page:

    https://catshield.com/products/mill...runner-4-0l-cat-shield?variant=43456402030841

You can toggle back and forth between the Standard and KDSS versions, and see the difference between the two. The KDSS version has a bit more of a cutout on one side, and that's all the difference I can see.

I have a message in to MillerCat to confirm whether it would fit your 4Runner, and hope to hear back from them soon.

    Thanks,

    Gary

@Texas-Gorilla - MillerCat responded with pretty much what I told you...they sent the same fitment chart but didn't rule out it fitting your SR5. I don't know how hands-on you are about working on your 4R, but if you're willing to make an offer on it, and we can agree, you could try it, and do any modifications necessary.

    Or not. :)

    Let me know.

Maybe someone with KDSS & no cat shield will jump in...

Gary, this will fit non-kdss models? It just has a bit larger cut out? If I read correctly?

Brad, as mentioned in post #10 above, you can go to the link provided to the Millercat website for this, and toggle back and forth between the non-KDSS & KDSS shield to see the difference. The difference is all on one side (driver side), where the KDSS accumulator is located. I can't see why it wouldn't fit, but am not 100% sure.
