I had some Tequila earlier, but have a busy day tomorrow so I cut myself off.

A tale of barrels and bottles. Uruapan and Fortaleza swapped barrels to create special edition bottles. These are the result.



A special edition cask strength 98 proof Uruapan Charanda Reposado that was aged in Fortaleza barrels.

A special edition cask strength 88 proof Fortaleza Winter Blend 2023 Tequila Reposado aged separately in Uruapan Charanda barrels and French and Hungarian oak barrels before getting blended.

Last night we cracked open the Uruapan and it did not disappoint. With dark rum and caramelized plantains on the palate and a thick oily mouth feel this sips like dessert in a glass and hides is 49% ABV very well. This bottle is phenomenal!

So this has been like 6 months in the making. We’ve been working with bar and restaurant owners, distributors, and industry people to get this going. The official launch with be in April.



The first Monday of every month will be donation based, open to the public, events that include educational seminars, tastings, and guest speakers. These will be designed to focus on education over commercialization.

For those wanting a deeper dive into the world of agave there will be an official Colorado Agave Collective membership program with exclusive access to extra content, private events, discounts at shops and restaurants, and invitations to join industry trips to Mexico.

We did a remote tasting with Sip Savor Celebrate on Sunday. It was supposed to just be the Ocho WJ Anejo but it spiraled a bit lol

I just spent 3 hours installing cali raised catalytic converter shields on my religion, and I’m celebrating with this. My RSG sliders are still factory wrapped in the background, i might install them tomorrow but I don’t know.

 

I found a decent looking Añejo Mezcal to try. I'll probably be tapping into it later today.

I got another treat to try tonight. The "Widow Jane" seems to be all gone everywhere I check. But, I'm guessing this will be pretty tasty.

I also grabbed a little sample bottle of Santo out of curiosity, because a trusted member mentioned that it was probably the only worthwhile celebrity owned tequila.

 

I like the Tequila Ocho, and just got home from Old Town Liquor. They were out of Fortaleza, so I settled for these.

 

Look who finally showed back up in Colorado, one of my all time favorites.
