    Hello!

im new on the forum looking for some advice. I would like to install a trailer hitch on my 4Runner. I have access to an old 98 and it’s got a hitch - does anyone know if I could attach that to my 4Runner?

I would say NO, BUT anything can be done if you have the right tools and knowledge, but just bolt right on...NO.

You may be aware of this, but 4th Gens came with two different types of hitches. The V8s have one that mounts up to the side rails and has a higher rating than the one on the V6. The one for the V6 bolts right to the cross piece on the back of the truck. Either will work.

You can often find either kind for sale on places like Facebook marketplace or of course you could try a junkyard or aftermarket parts supplier.

If you need a hitch, try etailer. They also have a good customer service, so you could always ask them too.
