Just picked up this 04 Sport and been fixing a bunch of odds and ends. The drivers window didn't work when I got it and I found it was held up by a block of wood. I installed a new regulator with motor and nothing. New switch...nothing. Wiring from the switch to the motor looks good. Everything else works as it should from the master switch. I'm stumped. Could it be the BCM?

Verified no blown fuses? Is the switch getting power? It should light up the "Auto" lettering on the switch at the very least.

No blown fuses. Checked every fuse in the vehicle very carefully. Has 12V at the switch, it lights up and you can hear and feel it "click" when you push it in either direction. I can probe wires at the connector and see individual wires get 12 volts when I use the other window switches but nothing from the drivers window switch. The drivers window motor has six wires, I assume because of the auto feature, and I also assume this goes thru the BCM.

If you are getting 12 V before the switch and nothing afterwards, then it is the switch. ( be sure you are pressing down on the switch when testing).
If you have voltage after the switch, then check voltage at the motor.
If you have voltage at the motor, then check for open grounds.

I understand the basics, I suppose its possible the new switch is faulty in the exact way as the old switch. But not likely. The motor has six wires I assume because of the auto feature and I am also assuming it goes thru the BCM. I dont think its as simple as hot in and hot out in this instance. But I certainly could be wrong. Thanks for the advice.

Solved. Found a broken wire in the rubber conduit between the door and the pillar.
