Will these tires fit??

The previous owner installed Falken A/T LT275/70R17 tires on my stock 2021 TRD OR about a year ago. (He also had a small front lift/leveler put on front end...) A friend is giving me his used Falken 285/70R17. Wondering what you folks think; will it rub? I see others putting on this size but most have been raised.

Few different stock wheels offered on the 4R depending on your trim and year. Are you referring to these?

I have those stock wheels with KO2 285/70/17
BP-51
BMC
SPC UCAs
N even spidertrax(think the normal 1.25”?)
Fender liners either gone or pushed in
Still had a lil rubbing
Now that’s also with rokblokz but I drilled a hole in them n zip-tied them, bent back, to hole in frame

still minor rubbing at full turn when backing out but nothing crazy

it really all depends but you might have to at least play with your inner fender n ditch the flap

we’re all built differently you know…

 

How close are you now? Brand new you're only talking .5" wider.

 

I'm sure someone else here has those wheels with 285s and can chime in!

 

With my right front wheel cranked all the way to the left there’s about 1/2” gap between the outside edge of the tire and the front fender. So I guess the tires I’m thinking of changing to might rub there esp w/ mud. Otherwise good I hope.

 

i think they’ll fit just fine. I have 285/70/17 Falkens on a 2” lift with no trimming and still have all mudflaps.

 

all little trim and heat gun massage may help clear more

 

So the front corners of the front fenders will have to be trimmed. What's the best way? I kinda jacked my last 4runner with all my changes to speakers, some addons, but I want to keep this one nice.

Also I guess I'll have to remove the front mud flaps as there's only about 1/2" clearance there now.

 

razor knife, take a little off at a time. no need to remove the mudflaps. You can heat them up and push them back or drill a hole and zip tie back. I didn’t have to do anything to mine at 2 inches of lift. I guess I got lucky
