Thanks for the bumps. Still hoping to get some answers from people with experience taking the driver's seat out. I would like to get a subwoofer installed this week.

That's definitely a Subaru sub, though. No meat / veggie special.

So your looking to put in a seat vibrator. One of those may fit under the passenger seat if you remove the heat vent under there. I fit a 6 channel amp under the passenger seat with these dimensions 14"W x 2-1/16"H x 10-3/4"D.

Alpine PWE-S8 may fit under the passenger seat.

I didn't want a true sub taking up space, so i just went with high end 6x9 component door speakers with my 6 channel amp. Plenty of low end and would probably sound far better than an under seat sub.

I asked about the 10" Kicker Sub and they weren't sure. I am hoping to save the passenger side area for a pure sine inverter and then eventually going to put in an amp under one of the rear seats. ...and yes, I want the boom as close to me as possible. I may end up "supplementing" with a bigger boom box that is easily removable for camping /baja trips.

There is not much space under there, plus the drivers side can raise/lower. I really don't think that sub has enough box to provide any good lows. Just go with a bigger sub box that is easily removable for camping, or JL Stealth box: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_13694685/JL-Audio-Stealthbox.html?tp=113

Vastly different price points here. Stealthbox is the endgame. Not willing to drop $2k on a sub+amp right now. Just looking for something to help with the bass lines. Investing in an amp now is the other option, I do have 6x9s and pioneer 6 3/4" speakers in the rear.

Thanks! I have thought about this. I might just have to pull the trigger on a sub and return if it doesn't work out. That's actually what the Crutchfield guy recommended. I just don't want to waste time pulling my driver seat just to find out something won't fit.

Having dabbled in this myself in the 90s when it first became cool. Why put it under the seat other than to shake your booty? Bass or low frequency tones are longer waves and the "sweet" spot can be different for every car and every song. Bass like most sound is omnidirectional. So won't matter where you put it as long as the tones you like to hear are far enough from your head to reach the peak at your drivers seat. I personally wouldn't throw anything under my drivers seat. If you want it done properly invest in an amp and a maybe even build your own box. I had a lowered 91 Honda CRX SI that I spent over $14,000 in mods back then. I used to take it to sound competitions back in "The Day". I miss the heck out of that car. The CRX Si was perfect. Wide stance wide tires and could take a 90 degree turn at 45mph. Don't ask me how I know.

Yea, I'm rethinking some things. I started talking with forum members over at diymobileaudio.com and bought an Arc Audio PS8-50 amp to power my existing speakers. When I was taking my passenger door off to run speaker wire I noticed my 6x9 speaker was damaged. Now I'm looking at woofers to start a 3-way component system. They have a good used/"brand new in box" marketplace, so I'm currently looking for something to replace those door speakers and run my 3.5" speakers in the dash for a couple of months until I figure out the rest of the 3-way up front.

Eventually, I want to build a box in the back that will fit between my toolboxes/fridge and rear seats. It's a tight fit, but I think I can make something work. It's a 10" x 42" footprint but slopes to a 4" wide at the top of the toolboxes/fridge. I am also considering the stealthbox option or the factory sub enclosure "improvement" option. I'm going to get the front seats dialed in first and then look to the rear for the heavier beats.

You may like this. Digging in the old brain Vault for some very early BASS 305 Audio Competition Music. LOVE this old stuff !!! I know I still have their CD's lying around somewhere in a box. I'm a big audiophile and have hundreds of albums. I recently finished my home theater with an 11.2.4 system (11 Speakers, 2 Subs, 4 Atmos). Wife and kids love it. Equipped with fridges cotton candy, popcorn machines, candy racks, hotdog makers. Love to watch movies and the Superbowl on a 4k projector.

We are about to start a big home renovation and an upgraded home theater is in the works. We currently have a 7.1, but planning for something similar.

I installed a Pioneer powered sub under the passenger seat a few years ago. There was plenty of room under there. Under the drivers seat, I have a small Alpine amp and a DSP. There seemed to be less room under the drivers seat.
