3rd Gen Start Up Issue

Went to start my 4Runner this morning and she started fine but there was a noticeable rough idle, although slight something was clearly going on (never done this in 20 years, oh and she has 341K miles on her). I inspected all the vacuum lines and around the engine compartment, Nothing that could see.

Some history on maintenance: At 265K miles had timing belt, new valve cover caskets, spark plug wires, injectors service and tested. She is stock.

Anybody go through something similar? Any ideas on what to check? TIA

Every so often I get a bit of a startup shake if she's been sitting a while. I've chalked it up to a sticky injector. After a bit it smooths out and then it's normal for months.

 

Even if all the vacuum lines LOOK good, they can have hidden cracks in them. If there's any doubt about a hose, it's best to replace it. Small price to pay for insurance on the hoses.

Second this, Have seen this happen a few times in my day.

 

Yes, It goes away after about 3-4 minutes.. she is driving daily, so this just started and its just as you stated. Thx
