Hey I have an 05 four runner and my gas gauge gets stuck every time I fill up my tank. It usually goes back to normal after a while but does anyone know how to fix it

It sounds like the fuel gauge float is sticking, or bad sending unit, if so it means you have to drop the fuel tank to replace the fuel pump/sending unit assembly which the float is a part of and it's all in the tank.

Fuel sending unit is a known 4th Gen issue. may be helpful as it has pics of the unit and an explanation of how it goes bad. There's also a video somebody did that is a deep dive into this issue.

I have a feeling mine is just starting to go, once I get to 1/8th tank it sort of doesn’t move. Ran out of gas the first tank when I owned it cause the guage read 1/8th tank but it was obviously empty. This was before I knew about the Miles Till Empty on the center information mode.
