Gas tank skids with full coverage?

I'm looking for a gas tank skid plate with full coverage at the front of the tank, similar to the OEM that extends up vertically. I've searched and searched and looked at all the major brands, and none seem to have what I'm looking for - see pic for reference.

I'd like to go aluminum, but there doesn't even look like a steel option that covers this. Should I just learn to weld and add it myself? haha

I went with the C4 fabrication because it has full coverage and has a good shape to not get snagged on obstacles.

Shits heavy but I swear you could jack the car up off of that thing. Very Beefy.

BudBuilt - It comes in steel, stainless-steel, lite steel, and aluminum. (I'd say go for the 3/16 steel. (best value IMO.)

I've purchased and installed their Rock Sliders, Hidden Winch Plate, and the Rock Armor Stage 1 in 3/16" due to budgetary constraints I didn't add the gas tank skid, but would be able to add it any time later.

 

^^^I have Bud Built but fitment is a little off. I had to stack washers to get the front skid to mount correctly and will have to do the same with the gas tank. I went with them because I wanted the light steel option but it hasn't been a very good experience and their customer service was meh.

 

You could always buy the aluminum one you like and modify it. If you know anyone who can tig weld filling that gap shouldnt be too difficult.
I'd add more drain holes too. The more the merrier.

 

I like the C4. Doesn't extend up like you want, but has a nice ramp at the front and rear and very good fitment.

As someone else mentioned, heavy as shit, but the gas tank is low on the 4R and gets hit frequently.

Yea I've seen a few similar stories with their fitment. I do like the way it extends forward more and connects to the transfer case

Fitment on the C4 looks the best of any I've seen. May have to deal with the weight

 

I am very happy with Bud Built. I have all their skids with gas and transfer in aluminum.

 

This one covers that area. I have a full set of 4x skids and sliders. 3 trips to Moab with many full-weight-of-the-truck hits while rock crawling and they have held up extremely well. 100% recommend 4x Innovations. Looking at other companies offerings on other peoples' rigs, I truly believe 4X has the absolute best armor on the market. I know that's a bold statement. Prove me wrong.

Design looks great, but at that price I think my stocker can take a few more hits

I’ve Artec (pic above in previous post). Because it is rolled and welded all the way around, there is no flat and weak areas that you have on some brands.
