Is that the Rola roof rack? Is it long enough or too small? I looked at it with getting the extension. I need something quick to get me on a 4th of July trip but don't have the funds yet to get a Gobi or anything else. I need cross bars as well, just got the truck this weekend. If you didn't get these "flat" crossbars, does that basket mount fine to factory Toyota cross bars?

It’s just the cheap Reese rack. I’m in the same situation....getting ready to move across the country and needed space for a few extra suitcases. It’ll fit two suitcases or some tote’s just fine but not much more. I went with the smaller rack because I was afraid that if I got a bigger one it might have interfered with the rear antenna when it was loaded. It’ll suit us for what we need. The bars I got are round and the rack still mounts tightly, but the Toyota flat bars would mount much better because of the square bracket that the rack mounts with.

Thanks! Understood. I have to find something suitable and in stock for now. Most decent ones seem to be made to order and I don't have 6 weeks right now.

Thanks that's the answer I was looking for, just trying to make sure they would fit with the factory side rails

I picked up 4 of the LFD steel cross bars for mine last weekend. He is local so that made the decision easy. Easy to mount a basket or something like the flat Rhino Rack mesh.

I picked up the reese cross bars from walmart today and they are working fine for my needs. My purpose of buying them was to get my kayak to the lake, about a 20 minute ride.
I didn't bend the tabs as described above ,I put the tabs into the grooves of the factory rails and tightened them. It was sturdy enough to survive the required standardized

$80, in and out of wallymart, did not need to worry about shipping or the package getting stolen off my porch.
