i have been reading a lot about new wheels for my magnetic gray SR5 4wd premium. I was going to get Fuel vector rims and was told by a few folks that matte black rims are not so great because they look washed out very fast. Am told you have to armour all them to keep them nice. I want low maintenance rims that stay looking nice. Is Satin the way to go to keep the wheels with a little shine? Gloss seems to shiny. I am concerned about matte looking terrible after a few months and never had black rims before. Looking at Helo 901s, XD 129 Holeshot, XD 132 RG2, or XD 122 Enduro which are all Satin. I want to stay with 17 inch but appreciate any advice on Matte vs Satin and any thoughts on the wheels mentioned if you think they would look good. Wanting something kind of unique, but the numerous brands and selections are killing me lol. Thanks!

I’d say satin is the easiest to maintain. Although I went with the Trd Pro matte black wheels and coated then with cquartz and they are easy to maintain now.

I put the Fuel Beast 18" machined matte black. Depending on the angle or the sun... a bronzish color comes out.. very cool.. love em.

    Just like paint sheen.

Gloss is the shiniest, easiest to keep clean. Wipes right off.

    Semi-gloss- lower sheen than gloss

Satin - more of a dull shine, Lower
    than semi gloss

Eggshell- like an eggshell really. Hard to keep clean

Matte- it’s new on the market, looks cool

Just like any wheel if you don’t keep it clean every 2 weeks at a minimum eventually you’ll get caked on yellow staining that never comes off. The risk you run is reverting to strong chemical cleaners that will ruin or affect the wheel finish.
