If the power-train, as speculated, is based off of the same platform between the Tacoma and the new 4Runner, the exhaust exiting on the drivers side in this photo supports that.

Well, half of those signs are on a different road than the test vehicle, which seems to be approaching a mandatory right turn at a T intersection. It does not appear connected to the road beyond, which curves in from the left from beyond the T-intersection road.

If you look closer, rear window at its widest point is wider than space between tail lights. So I think fast eddie is correct.

Small tires, and rear shock mounts look further inboard than the 5th gen, and more vulnerable.

At least there still a solid rear.

Yep, you can see the lines of the vertical structure underneath extending well inside of the tail light covers. The whole point of the cover elements is to do things like that to obscure lines and features.

Decided just to repost everything since this thread is still getting used anyway. Also added a video someone was able to get of it.

I'd expect it to look like a smaller version of the new Sequoia. What I don't get is pricing on the new Land Cruiser. Seems like it's very close to what a 6th gen 4Runner will cost.

It looks like a roundabout to me and I'm sure we all know folks that need a little extra help at a roundabout!

Bonus points: LA was the only place so far that I have encountered roundabouts with stop signs.

The dual-VVTi version in 5th gens maybe, save for the SAIS valve failures. With years passing, the single-VVTi version in 4th gens and 2nd gen Tacomas is now prone to head gasket leaks. Timing cover leaks are also present on the overwhelming majority of them, though it isn't as onerous to reseal as the 3.5L 2GR.

Fun fact - with the 2.7L gone in the Tacoma, the 4.0L is now the most ancient engine offered by Toyota, originally designed at the turn of the century :)

No engine is without issues but the v6s and v8s are starting to get fazed out. Definitely an end of an era. Cold starts on the 4.0 sound like a beast.

^Beast or garbage truck? :p But yes the clutch fan roar will be gone with the T24A - going to an electric fan.

I'm guessing September release date. Gives me plenty of time to save for a new one.

And that is a roundabout for beginners. The "circles of death" one is only 10 minutes from that one.
