My standard for when the 4Runner needed a bath was when the back window got hard to see out of. Today, I got some mud on the GX at a jobsite, and I guarantee I won't be able to resist giving it a bath tomorrow.

    Everything said above, plus:

    - Rear seats fold flat and provide decent amount of room
    - Don't have to worry about hitting the curb

All in all, 20-year old technology that you can still buy new today...That is pretty awesome!

BTW, this is a great thread...we should come here every month after car payment day!

I to have a 99 Accord since new. Kept it for 22years. Ran good, but it was getting old, as cars do. Loved the car and wished Honda would just do a re-issue of that car. The design was perfect as a “Good, everything you need” car. It feels like the 4runner is that. Even though its not the same kind of vehicle, it gives me the same “good honest vehicle” vibes.

Yes! Traded in one of my 4Runners during the height of the chip shortage for six grand more than I paid for it! And sold my last one (which I'd paid full sticker for, and driven almost 40k miles over two years) for just a few grand less than I paid for it.

It's rugged and refined at the same time! A tight, rock solid vehicle that I really enjoy driving!

The fact you can do so many mods and so much maintenance relatively easily in your driveway. The mods are also a downside as you spend money
