    Hello,

I was looking to see if my 2021 4runner Limited needed any updates on the Toyota site. I found that there are two new versions for both the 17TDT2NA-DA30 which says is the Operating System and 17TMT2NA-DA50 which is the Multimedia Extension Unit for Maps. I looked under the software updates tab in the system folder on my head unit and it showed that I do not have the latest versions.

I was wondering who has updated their head units and if they had any problems doing so. I don't have any problems that I am aware of but would like to get it up to date. I did search the forums and one post I read that they had problems but this was on a 2014 model.

    Thanks!

What's the reason to do so? Improved features?

    17TDT2NA-DA30 -
    • Apple CarPlay does not start immediately after connecting iPhone.
    • Intermittent Radio Rebooting.
    • Tune knob doesn’t change the track in all audio sources.
    • Music does not resume when changing the volume, and the audio source is paused.

    17TMT2NA-DA50 -
    • Incorrect FM and XM genre information.
    • Blower motor mode does not match the actual blower mode.

Thanks for the info! I've had issues with CarPlay not starting up right away, but that's usually corrected by not plugging the phone in too soon, or doing before starting. I haven't experience any other issues. Good luck with the install!

Yes, this was the same video I got my information from as well. I had planned on doing it this evening. Now, I just have to find a flash drive.

I think there is some connection to the HVAC in headunit. I remember some setting in vehicle settings on headunit.

Yeah, the reason I started looking into this was because I use YouTube from my phone which mirrors to the screen for all of my music. Recently my track-skip button stopped working to skip to the next song in my list and now I have to do it manually and thought that it might fix this issue. I do not believe this will fix it and think it has something to do with the different versions of Android Auto that I have on my phone.

On another note...How does Android Auto get updated in our cars? Is it through the versions we have on our phones..or is it the version that came out when the car was new? If that makes sense.

Yours may have been updated by Toyota if you have taken it in. I just bought my car this past January from an Audi dealership. I have not taken it to a Toyota dealer. My older versions are 1110 and 1122. The new versions are 1162 DA-30 and 1150 for the DA-50.

FYI. I updated my system today with both files and had no problems whatsoever. The whole thing took about ten minutes to update the software.

Sorry to bring up a dead thread.
Was attempting to update my radio and it’s not going so well.
    Any suggestions?

According to the Toyota website, the current version is 1162/1150

I’ve tried a few different thumb drives with the same result.

    What year is your 4runner?
When I check you seem to have the newest firmware version.

    edit to add:

giving it one last shot with fat32 on a 32 gif thumb drive. Will download fresh files again just in case.
Even dusted off a windows computer to remove any Mac issues with file formats
