Newbie: 2023 TRD Off Road Premium. First aid kit?

Hello all. Brought this beast home this past Friday from the dealer so I am still becoming familiar with it.

I see in documentation for a 2024 version of the same model and trim that I have there is a first aid kit included... somewhere.

Assuming the prior owner did not liberate this first aid kit, where would I find it in my 'Runner?

I have no idea but in the back on the right side is there a little cubby space after the wheel well?

It's a pretty standard first aid kid, with a focus mainly on wound care - not costly and easily replaced.

 

Agreed. However given the price of these vehicles - even the used ones - I expect to see all items that are stated in the product description to be there. Not that big a deal, but then it leads me to think what else may be missing that should be with the vehicle.

You can throw a better kit together yourself for $8. If I recall… Seems like it contained a few bandaids, some gauze, a pair of disposable nitrile gloves, and a cheap pair of small scissors.

 

Welcome. The first aid kits and cargo nets were standard equipment in all trims in 2023. Some dealers never put them in the 4Runners to begin with. Try checking in the spare tire tool kit location.

When I got my '23 Limited, the first aid kit was stuck on the back of the rear seat (Velcro style), and the cargo net was in a bag in the side storage cubby. The first aid kit is a joke really, I went to Walmart and got a kit with a LOT more stuff in it that was fairly inexpensive. I just keep it under the front passenger seat for now.

Yikes, I have never opened that first aid kit. I use a cheap Walmart kit that is around 30 bucks. I don't spend too much as I have to change every couple of years when its closer to expiry date.

 

Mine was just bouncing around in the back when I bought my 4Runner. Same with the wife's Corolla.

I've added Trauma kits to both vehicles. The 4Runner also has a wound care kit from welly. Mainly for boo boos.

Driver's side rear interior panel, near the tail light. You can't miss it. This is also where some dealers will put your wheel lock key, if it's not in the glove box.

 

Which product description? The dealer's used vehicle listing? With used vehicles, any number of parts and accessories may be missing - floor mats, jack & tool kit, owners manual, spare tire, mudflaps, cupholder inserts, running boards/step rails, wheel lock key... It's up to you to inspect it prior to paying.

 

FWIW, I bought my '23 TRD OR new here in Canada last year. I specifically asked about the first aid kid and the cargo net - I was told by the dealership sales manager that these do not come with new 4Runners in Canada. Either he lied and I got hosed, or its a USA-only thing.

 

3JOH22A: They can sell you a vehicle that does not have a tire jack and tool kit?

Update: I found the jack and tool kit. I also found the cargo net. The first aid kit remains MIA..

 

^For a general used vehicle sale, they can sell you one without even a spare tire.

Can I get recommendations for fog lights for the 'runner? If I would be doing primarily road driving with very little off road use (so far, I think), should I stay with the factory installed fog lights? Recommendations? thx.
