I have a 2022 4Runner TRD Sport. My pop's has a 2016 4Runner and he just recently replaced his running boards. Mine does not have running boards on it and I'm wondering if I can put his 2016 OEM running boards onto my 2022 4Runner.

Welcome. Yes, they should be able to bolt on, as long as he has a limited. Other trims boards may fit, but the rocker skirts on the sport and limited hang lower.

Yea he has the Sport. Buttt on my Pop's 2016 4runner SR5 he had these brackets that would make the OEM running boards go down and outward I had to basically toss them before installing the newer running boards.

I don't know why, but I can't make any sense of what this is saying...

This is what the brackets look like.

Sooo Steelov, he does infact have the Sport trim model and I went over to his place to see if they would fit and nope, they sure don't. Do you know if Toyota makes bigger/longer brackets?? I only need about an inch to an inch and a half for them to fit properly on his 4runner.
