I installed 2001 4Runner SR5 seats into my old beat up '98 Limited 4Runner. It was about time because my little brother has been needing to adjust the seat only to find out that all the motors and gears are either; burned out or torn out. Loving the manual seat adjustments instead of electric. Just 'bout time also because this lil' Texas weather is not forgiving in the moment!

Nice ladder!! I thought these ladders can only be put on with a full roof rack but I guess not! Now I’m going to get one

I bought it from AJT Design. https://www.ajtdesign-llc.com/

Its a pretty simple swap. You just take off the factory shell and put the new awesome looking rugged one on. It took me about 5 minutes. There’s also lots of colors to choose from. Might get another one :spending:

I have a aftermarket alarm. Will this key fob work for mines?

Not entirely sure what you mean by aftermarket alarm. Could you explain more?

When I bought my 4R it came with a aftermarket alarm. Not the factory one. So im pretty sure the buttons on my key fob won’t transfer.
My 4Runner didn’t come with a alarm so the original owner installed a aftermarket one

Well, it was a long and rough day yesterday. From having to put down my last dog Murphy today (boxer of 16 years), to taking close to 6 hours to install a light bar. But, I can safely say both are in better places now. Please check for pictures of the puppy, I think everyone here likes them.

The bar was a bit of a pain, for a new guy that is. Wiring was easy, install was harder. Didn’t have the right drill bits, and for my first time learning, it was difficult.

Step one was removing the weather stripping on the driver and passenger side door. Step two was cleaning the metal. Now came the part of running the wire. I ran the wire for the switch through a small hole I found in the engine bay which led to under the dash, wasn't that bad. I'll be sealing it soon.

Next step was running the power to the bar. To do this I ran the wire from the engine bay, into the front left quarter panel, through a gap, and then behind the weather stripping and up to the bar. I removed the alligator clamps on the bar and went with in-line (if thats the correct term?) connectors, which are sealed behind shrinkwrap.

The final part was a pain in the ass. Didn't want to drill into the roof and pull the headliner so I purchased some side angled mounts from a buddy on 3rd Gen 4Runner Mafia on Facebook. Took a lot of cursing and a little bit of force, but the mounts went in and voila! All wired up and working. Then I glued the power wire onto the door frame, put sealant around all the holes and the gaps of the weather stripping, and then put everything back.

My 02 is looking better every day. I love the bar so far. I had one problem with it. HAd a large vibrating noise coming from what I thought was the bar, turned out it was the rain guard which covered the front of my sunroof vibrating from the air distortion. Simple fix, just removed thr thing.

Thanl you to everyone on this forum and thread for making this addition possible. Now, payday is Thursday, and im already looking for my next project...

    Cheers boys :oldglory:

As previously mentioned above, pictures of the dog below. He was a good boy. Not in pain anymore. Sucks not having a furry friend to ride around with anymore but, he's in a much better place
