It’s a Rubbermaid 48 Action Packer. My experience is that the older Action Packers were more sturdy which allows for the lids to seal better. I never had this exact size but the ones I have are big and I can use them in the back of my pickup on hunting trips and my stuff always stays dry. If you’re just using it inside and not putting a ton of weight in it that might collapse a side when handling it probably serves that purpose.

It seems kind of flimsy but a cheap alternative to Pelican cases.

 

Just got the Pelican BX135 a few days ago. It is a nice fit. Cost was $384 with military discount.

I have one of those (Rubbermaid Action Packer) in the back of my 4Runner. It would slide around every time I took a turn and was annoying as hell. I saw an easy fix on another forum. I drilled small holes in each bottom corner and added rubberized magnetic feet (not sure if that is the right term). About $10 worth of hardware from Home Depot and no more sliding.

 

I figured mine would stop sliding once I put some weight in it. I also considered Velcro.

I thought about the pelican but I wanted something cheaper I guess.

 

It's not just about sliding, you don't want 100lb+ box turned into a projectile should you get into an accident.

 

Pelican looks nice but a few bucks there.

I just put a strap around it from the two rings on the back of the seats.

 

I thought about that but I don’t think it will make it up and over or through the rear seat head rests. I have been looking for a net or something though.

 

I have a rear shelf/molle system and that box would fit perfectly underneath the shelf. The shelf would keep the box from becoming a projectile.
