Hi guyz ! Im new on this forum .. I am a 3rd gen Runner owner and i have an issue with the brake pedal .. First i saw a leak between the master Cylinder nd the brake Booster , i bought a repair kit aisin nd changed .. It was ok !! 2 days after the leak appears nd parked the truck .. I ordered a brand new master cylinder aisin .. When i was free to install it i used 3 can of oil trying to bleed the system !!OMG it was so painful to get some pressure on the pedal .. I checked all the line nd realized a little leak in my rear drum .. I bought 2 wheel cylinder nd changed them the next week .. Still no brake !! I followed all the instructions Exactly like the repair guide said .. Starting so far ( rear passenger side - rear driver side - front passenger side - front driver side ) .. My 4runner is Non ABS but got an part with a spring near the differential .. A friend help me nd see this part is leaking so bad .. So i decided to install an new line directly from the master cylinder to the hose on the top of the differntial .. Therefore i got pressure .. It was ok .. A few days after the pedals feels like It's going to the floor .. Please I need help !! Somebody can tell me WTF is going on with that brake ? PS i changed all the front discs , callipers nd brake pads . Sorry if my english is bad !

Man you have a lot going on. If you have all of the leaks fixed you should be able to bleed the brakes no problem.

Post a photo of the leaks, and each end of the axles at the backing plate for the brakes. I think a wheel cylinder may be leaking, but leaks on the inner tire rubber, or a wet backing plate will let us know whether the problem is at the front calipers/rear drums, or up in your engine bay.

3" lift but mostly all stock not a scratch on it it is pristine condition amazing for being 19 years old.
i had the same problem i took out my rear axle and took it to the machine shop i thought i had the brake line closed off but all the fluid run out of the system. my brakes were a little spongy before that so i got a new master cylinder i did not have a vise to preload the master so i instaled it and pumped the fucken shit out of it and it took hours finally got some pedal but it kept going to the floor so what i found out was there was air in the abs system so i took it off road and purposely made the abs kick on and off for about 10 min after that i bleed the brakes one more time and that did the trick my brakes are better than they have ever been so i hope you see this before you take it to a shop just do what i did and it should fix the problem. LARRY B SORRY I DIDN'T SEE YOUR POST UNTIL AFTER I WROTE THIS THATS GREAT YOUR BRAKES ARE GOOD BUT MAYBE SOMEONE WILL SEE THIS AND IT WILL HELP THEM.

The thing is our Runner is older so there are some rusty parts .. and most of the time the brake lines .. Mine got 247xxx miles .. In my country we dnt really use or it’s not recommended to use the ABS system!!! it’s mountains all around !! All the cars imported from US with ABS are removed .. This part can kill you with poor pressure when you going down a mountain..
Still using my Runner without brakes issues .. Cheers Bernardin
