2015 with 217k miles. I have a red airbag light that’s intermittent. Doesn’t flash, just lit up. Searched and it doesn’t appear common. Thoughts?

Do you have a code reader? If not, drop by an auto parts store and run a scan. A code will help narrow things down. There could be several causes such as battery issue (low voltage), airbag sensor, clock spring, seat belt latch, etc...

I went by an autozone, and they said it won’t read for airbag faults.

If you don't want to go to the dealership, an under 100$ scanner will tell you what SRS code it's throwing. Go from there.

Just went to my mechanic. Code is b1801. Internet says I need a new clock spring. Searched the forum and nothing.

I'd say you got your money's worth for 2,017,000 miles :D

Fixed it. This truck might be the perfect vehicle. IMO it’s a mini Land Cruiser. Smaller, more nimble, more fuel efficient, made in Japan, and plenty capable off road.

Congratulations. For someone who might encounter this down the road - what was the fix?

I fixed the original post. To fix the airbag, it appears I need a new clock spring. I have a guy that works at a collision shop that is going to do it for me on the side. Great guy.
