Hello guys! First off I’m excited to be a part of the 4R community! Hello from SoCal! I just bought a brand new 2023 4R ORP! A month ago.

question: I accidentally hit a curb with the tire.i was parking off the Main Street and drivers were riding my butt so I parked kinda quick. I didn’t hit it too hard, like maybe 4-5 mph, but I heard a small click when I did. I checked to make sure everything was good and nothing looked damage and it drives fine. I took it as a learning lesson, I’m used to driving my Honda accord and realized I have to adjust to the SUV. Don’t attack me !!!! I know haha, but do you think I’m okay?

I’m beating myself up about it, even though nothing is wrong but I just want confirmation, it should be okay. Alignment seems normal and I drove it in silence and heard nothing or felt nothing. Do you know what the pop or click could have been?

It is a write off for sure. I lightly grazed a wheel on my 2020 Tacoma when it was brand new and it was a sad day. It was an awkward Starbucks drive through and I was used to my previous trucks with big tires and lots of sidewall. It happens to the best of us.

Thanks @CalcityRenegade! Regardless I have full coverage haha but man I’m so mad at myself. I realize now how heavy this gas guzzling tank is, but I love her so much! I cherish her, I felt like I hurt a loved one lol!!

Welcome. Depending on how hard you hit the curb, will depend on if it threw it out of alignment. It wouldn’t hurt to get it checked. Your tires will thank you later.

That's the great thing about these, they're pretty impervious to stuff like this. I hit massive potholes and purposely run over curves on a regular basis, and no issues.

I just read an article where Rhode Island, where I live, was rated to have the worst roads in the country. Sounds accurate, but the 4Runner don't care.

I street park mine, and to line it up nice and straight, I always come in really sharp, bump the passenger side front tire up and over the 6" curb, and then I'm perfectly straight when I come back down.

Do not treat your 4Runner like an Accord. It is meant to receive a beating, and some things will break too. Put on some beefy tires and hit the trails. A clean shiny 4Runner is not a happy 4Runner.

When I was stock I accidentally drove up on this rock and accidentally took this photo.

After suspension I kept accidentally driving up onto bigger and bigger things. Weird.

I'm sure your truck is fine. These things can take some pretty big hits without much trouble. Welcome to the forum!

    Apologies for my dry sarcasm.
In all seriousness I've hit many curbs. (Some much faster than I care to admit.) The truck didn't seem to care. No weird noises. Still drives straight.

You can blame my wife as she is the one who wanted it. In my defense, it is an awkward drive through as you need to be close to the curb to be remotely close to their window.

Live and learn!!! Don't sweat the small stuff (it's all small stuff!).

BTW: I learned in my first FJ40 that, to correct the alignment, simply hit something on the OTHER side! (Old four-wheeler's trick!) :bananadance::bananadance::bananadance:

As a returning owner (we had a 2004 until somebody totaled it) I feel your pain. I *hate* noises like that I can't explain.

But as has ben pointed out elsewhere, you're probably fine.

Yeah my wife in winter will go for Hot Chocolate at the Outlet's near us. I won't set foot in that place. Not getting into why on here because I want to stay on here.:yes:
I was gonna say "America Runs on Dunkin" that's what we brew at home. The DD in New England completely dunk the Chocolate Glazed in it, Here in Pa. they just drizzle it over the top:mad::frustrated: You're in Canada I see so you would be in Tim Horton's country.

Do you have kdss? If so, the noise you heard may have been related. I get some clicks and rattles up front occasionally as the piston is doing its thing.

I backed out of my driveway right into my neighbor's brand new Lexus. Put a tiny scratch on my bumper and concaved the heck out of his plastic bumper. Good day.....not
