4WD/Diff Lock Error Lights

04 4Runner SR5 V6

We installed a new 4WD actuator on the 04 4Runner. The 4wD and Diff lock will actuate and work great. But, when we take the vehicle out of 4WD and down to 2WD, the 4WD and Diff Lock lights blink on the instrument panel. The car is in 2WD definitely, but is throwing the blinking lights. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx
