    You should do this instead:

I know this mod is for a 3rd gen Tacoma, but the mod will work for a 5th gen 4Runner. They both have power outlets in the bed/cargo area; so the wiring is the same and the route that the wiring takes is the same also.

The install videos make it look very simple and it's easy to use.

Not trying to be a dick, but the inverter in the 4Runner is near the 110v plug in the back, it's not under the console like the Tacoma

I know you're not trying to be a dick. You're being ignorant. But I forgive you and still love you man.

The location of the inverter has nothing to do with this modification, the wiring setup is exactly the same for the 3rdGen Tacoma & 5thGen 4Runner. You are just tapping into the wiring.

It's all good man. But this is a pretty cool mod if you need a house hold style plug up front, for like...a laptop or cell phone charger.

Looks great. Wondering how this works if you have the factory safe as a center console? Would that also need to be removed to reach the harness?

Yup! You'd have more labor to do, but it should be kind of easy to remove so you can do the mod. I mean, that safe isn't bolted down. It just slides in?

Loco, I’m confused. It says on ktjo install for 4Runner the inverter to tap is in the rear of the truck.

Bumping to see if anyone has figured out an easy way to add a cigarette socket switched outlet to the glovebox. Would make wiring my blackvue much easier since it's not compatible with any of the dongar plugs.

ETA: if not possible, how difficult is it to route a wired plug to the center console armrest port?

I added a duel 12V to the back of my 4R, super easy to do it up front too. Just need 12v power and cig outlet.
