My apologies. I know I saw that at Discount Tire because it started January 1 and I had just bought my Toyos on 12/30, so I was ticked that I didn’t wait a few more days. But of course, now I can’t find any reference to that DT offer anywhere. I did find one sale on Wildpeaks, but it seems to be the AT3Ws.

    Will do.

I was rubbing in normal turning, but after taking off the mud flaps and adjusting some of the black plastic with a heat gun now I'm just rubbing in full left turn reverse. I think it's just catching on the underside of the bumper now so I'll probably trim that back an inch.

3lbs isn't the end of the world, however they were already the heaviest AT tire in their class. I really don't see any point in buying these when you have lighter options like the Toyo AT3 or KO2/KO3

No worries. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss a sale. :) I saw the same offer at American Tire not long ago. Don't know anything about them but there one not too far from me.

Take another look at your left side body mount. I think you may be rubbing on that as I am with the same size tires.

I would be impressed if they had tested more than one winter tire. If they had tested some Blizzak WS90's and Nokian Hakkapeliitta's the results would not have been the same.

I have ran enough AT's (Duratrac, Hankook Dynapro, Cooper AT3 etc.) to know that I will stick to dedicated winter tires. Both the wife and I are running studded winters and comfortably go anywhere.

Wanted to post an update to my previous post.

Very happy with these tires. Similar feel to my old AT3Ws, as expected. They performed well at my local OHV area even fully aired up.

The rubbing issue was completely resolved after trimming and pushing back the plastic inside the front fender.

Good to know and thanks for the update. Are those heavier than the AT3w’s you had?

Slightly lighter actually because I came from 285/75R16 E load on a Tacoma.

As far as I know they have more sidewall strength. At least on the E load. Dunno about the others

That addresses one of the knocks people had, that the ply rating of the AT3W's sidewalls weren't commensurate with the rest of the tire.

We just replaced my wife's rig, '19 Wrangler Rubicon JL 2DR to '23 T4R ORP, and had a set of the AT4Ws thrown on in the stock size 265/70/17 SL rated...

First, I tried to order AT3Ws, but they were unavailable due to a recall in the stock size SL, and then they discontinued them. So I begrudgingly went with KO2s, and it wore those for a couple of weeks before I looked into exchanging them (thanks Discount Tire) after my wife complained about them in the rain a couple/few times (the main reason why I prefer the Falkens in the first place).

As has been my experience with these two tires before on my rig (Nissan Titan), the Falkens run larger, and are at least 1" taller than a KO2 in the same size. They are a little heavier than the C-rated KO2s, but they're bigger, and more tire means more rubber. The truck has a Rough Country 2" lift/level installed (spacers) and even in the stock size the Falkens are large enough that I think it looks great, no chopping/cutting/heat gun necessary.

They look good even in the stock size CK. They actually do fill in the wheel well nicely.

IMG_7785.jpg Installed a set of at4ws today. 265 17 70 So far it seems a bit stiffer than my toyo open country. Probably due to the 3ply sidewall.
The toyos were good in the dry, but I was hydroplaning in the wet going 50-60.

panda, do they seem a little bigger than the Toyos? Watch a vid that had a size comparison between the BFG K03 and the Falken Wildpeak AT4 and the AT4’s were noticeably larger in the same size.

Hey, I didn’t get a chance to compare. Sorry! I dropped her off discount tire and left.

update on driving. Less lean in at turns. Waiting for the rain to see how they perform.

I went through 2 sets of AT3’s on my Tacoma. Best tires ever. However, just got a stock 2023 4Runner and installed a set of 265/70r/17’s. Made in Japan and a little heavier, but, the ride is smoother (comparable with the stock Dunlop highway tires that came with it) and there is less road noise, even with the windows open. Very happy with these so far, paid $1046 out the door with tax @ Pep Boys, now if I can just find the optimal pressure.

More driving update! Got to drive them in light rain, definitely feels more planted than the toyo at3s. The ride is less bouncy too. Wife mentioned less body roll at turns. Less road noise at highway cruising. 70-80mph. Truck feels more
Stable too. They are heavier than toyo at3s and you can feel it. With the added weight, im sure mpg will suffer a bit. Overall, the truck feels more comfortable, planted in the rain, more stable, less bouncy. Very pleased so far.

I just got these in 265/70/17 SL. Running them at 36 psi (cold)at the moment. Daily driver mostly but doing some off roading. The SL or this size is made in Japan.

I've had at3's for 60,000 miles and 4 years (5 tire rotate, so 47,000-ish miles on tires) 275's aired to 40 psi. The centers are worn just a little bit more than the edges. Knowing what I know now, I have reduced the pressure to 37 psi., which is what Discount Tire had them at when installed.

I find to start out at 32 psi cold is a good start. They tend to go up anywhere between 4 to 6 psi when they warm up especially in the summer.
