I have a 2022 4Runner Limited, I need a running board (grip step). I do NOT like the OEM plastic POS boards! I want more aggressive ones with space between the truck and the board! At least 6 inches wide! I like the Lucerne grip step 7 inch (I have on a Tundra!) I cannot find any thing like that because the flair on the bottom of the limited. Dose anyone know if they sell or make elongated brackets for this type of grip step??? Or if someone would make them?? Any information would be helpful!!! senior citizen, mother has a hard time getting in truck and she will slip on the plastic OEM! Safety first! Thank you all!!

    Oooh look, another mod.....
They make a power retractable step for the Limited trim level. Have you considered that?

I have, I’m in CT with snow and Ice….. and worst of all salt!!!! That eats the wires & metal and cause all sort of problems! The retractable steps to get stuck in or 1/2 way out! Its a problem I want to have! They are also not a wide a s I would like! This forum was my last hope.

I have a 2022 4Runner Limited and I am having trouble finding the power side step for it. Botch Loco can you please tell me the brand you are talking about and possibly where to purchase. I was looking at the AMP brand, but it is not for limited.

Welcome. The OEM Toyota auto running boards are a factory-installed option. I think that AMP Research makes an aftermarket power running board.

Have you actually looked at the Toyota running boards available for the Limited? There are at least two versions - one with a chrome detail on the side and one (Nightshade version - Toyota p/n PT925-89190) that is all black. I don't have a Nightshade Limited - but I had the Nightshade running boards installed on my 2023 MGM Limited - I like how they look better then the standard one with the chrome detail on the side. The one thing I would point out these running boards are not covered with slippery plastic - they are covered with a grippy rubber material. Prior to this 4Runner I had a 2010 Tacoma TRD Sport that had the Toyota Trail running boards on it. Those were covered with a slick plastic - although they worked fine for me. Just saying the Toyota running boards available for the Limited are not covered in plastic where you step - they are covered with a grippy rubber material.

The AMP Research running boards will not work on the limited or Nightshade. Shooter1231, I called Toyota and inquired on power running board for the 4Runner Limited and was told that Toyota doesn’t make any. I know I can get any of the others all day long, but I want power. I thought it was strange before I ordered my 4runner, I got online and built the one I wanted. It did allow me to build one with power boards. I went to my local dealer to order and was told that power boards were not an option on the 4Runner. If anyone runs across a brand or site that carries power for the 4runner limited, please post. Thank you for your help.

Sorry - I was responding to the OP. I don't have power running boards on my Limited. Was just pointing out to the OP that the Nightshade version of the Toyota running boards that fit the Limited (PT925-89190) have a rubbery surface on them - not a slick plastic surface.
