I don't understand the arbitrary rule that tires don't count. We literally tell all the new guys that's the first thing they should do.

 

Maybe it's so they can do two mods while only having to admit to one.

Small rear light pods for reversing.
each are on a single factory bumper cover bolt, attached with quick connects.

 

For the purpose of this game, tires are no different than paint. You're really not changing the stock form

While most of us recognize that tires are the FIRST modification to be made and also considered necessary, there are "soccer moms" and "mall runners" who keep stock tires. There are also a significant number of 2WD 4Runners. The OP sets the conditions for his post and it seems like he should have said "other than tires" if that was what he intended. We can't read things into his query.

 

Correct. Tires that are not original equipment is a modification.
Some trim levels can come with Nitto Terra Grapplers in 265/70/17. That is my case so I choose to add a winch.

Some have said lighting, armor, roof rack. Very interesting answers.
Its a basic premise and simple question. If people wish to modify the question so they can get creative, so be it. I am just curious what modification people value the most.

 

Tires, tints, ppfs are not mods. I've seen people here consider their phone holders a mod.
It's still a stock vehicle afterwards. Nothing was MODified.

So every car that changed tires is considered modded?
