Hey guys, I have a specific question and I’m kind of having trouble so I just recently removed my transmission because it was slipping. Really bad and didn’t want to rebuild so I went ahead and did a full install myself.

The used had less than 100 K miles which is decent and had no problems. Once I got it mounted up everything wired everything fitted up now it’s throwing a check transmission light and when I plugged in the OB2 it’s saying that every single solenoid is bad, which is super hard to believe.

Two things I can think of is swapping out the whole entire valve body of the one I put in with the one I took out. Or I can go solenoid for solenoid and try to figure out which one’s wrong.

Everything I’ve read online says that the solenoid should not have gone out that early have Reed forums of Toyotas going 200 K everything I’ve read online that the solenoids should not have gone out that early. have read forums of Toyotas going 200k plus without ever changing any solenoids.

What should I do? Any advice is super appreciative. Thanks y’all

    Any warranty left?

Maybe it's low on fluid. Have you checked?

    No warranty unfortunately

And I made sure to have the right amount of fluid in there. Ran thru the gears 15 times while continuously pumping fluid

Its a bit more than running through the gears on the 4R. I'd check it correctly first before replacing anymore parts.

Let’s just say it’s not the fluid because I don’t think it is. what else could be the reason as to why none of the solenoids are reading?

Some of the back story is missing...what caused a 3-year old Toyota transmission to be 'slipping'?

Do y’all know where the ground points are on the transmission? Or the ground points leading to the transmission? We might’ve missed one. I just don’t know where. does anyone have a diagram on where exactly those ground points are?

Transmission maintenance is far outside the scope of this forum. I’d seek out a real professional.

Our expertise is debating tires, skid plates, LED bulbs and oil change intervals.

Sounds more like an electrical issue such as a ground.

When you get so many codes at once, chances are it is a low voltage situation. Check harness for corrosion, check ground, check battery.

I had one solenoid go bad at about 40,000 on my 21. Toyota fixed it under extended warranty.
Wouldn't think that many would be bad at once.

Double check the main transmission harness connector. Unplug it and look at the pins. You'll need a mirror for the transmission side. Make sure the connector locking lever is fully engaged when you plug it back in. You should also make sure that you didn't pinch the harness on top of the bell housing when you tightened the transmission. Don't swap a valve body from a slipping transmission into this one.

Hey there Mister, you can’t speak on everyone’s behalf. What if someone has something to add? I’d like to add that I wish the OP good luck, because I have no idea what might be wrong. Lol:p
I’m curious, what symptoms did you have when that happened. Do you know what parts they ended up replacing?
