New UCA or new bushings

Hello everyone,

Happy New Year! I need to replace my bushings, New bushing costs $270. Should I just buy new UCA's or just replace my bushings?

 

I vote new UCA's......knowing absolutely nothing about your truck.

 

You could probably find oem take off ucas for $100. Look on your local fb marketplace.

 

We talking stock UCA?

Go look in the for sale section someone might just want to give their stock suspension away for free. I gave mine away after I lifted.

Craigslist too sometime.

 

Probably aftermarket bushings, I didn’t think toyota sells them separate from the LCA. It would be a lot of work, and doing a lot of work for aftermarket parts doesn’t always pay off.

I like the idea of buying from someone selling new takeoff LCAs

But even if you buy new LCAs, it might be worth it. The vids I’ve seen here and there make bushing swaps out to be a real pain in the ass.

 

I don't think swapping bushings is worth the labor, cuz then you still have the old ball joint in it too.

If you can't find a set of low mileage takeoffs for cheap, I would buy new. Whether you do OEM or RockAuto is up to you.

Bushings or just get UCA's because of the cost.

 

I meant as opposed to LCAs as mentioned in post 5. Bushings or UCAs...

 

Doh! It was my lack of reading comprehension lol.

In that case, low mileage take-off UCAs all the way. Especially since they are much easier to find cheap!

 

Had this conversation with my service advisor. He said Toyota doesn’t sell bushings separately. You have to buy the whole control arm which is expensive.

 

Rock Auto has UCA's which resemble stock, or you can buy the bushings... at least for a 2020.
