Fog light surround

Can anyone tell me if the black plastic piece that surrounds the fog lights on my '23 Limited just snap in place, and can be removed using a plastic trim removal tool from the front? I have a set of those Lamin-X yellow lens covers, and figured it would be easier to apply with that black plastic piece out of the way.

You will break it prying from the front. It snaps into the chrome surround which then clips into the bumper cover.

 

I installed the Lamin-X yellow's on my truck, they go on with ease. No need to remove anything. Make sure the lens and the back of the Lamin-X is wet, spray it generously. You can use a plastic trim tool to tuck it under the plastic surround.

I don't have a limited but I know the fog surrounds and nearby plastic on offroad 4R's may break as well if you just pry from front. Almost gotta release them from their clips in behind. I bet taking things apart would make lamin-x apply the best yes.

@Borracho Loco I actually did my Lamin-X with the alternative recommended application, WENT IN DRY haha

The black piece and chrome bezel is one piece. Can remove the fog light from its screws. Here's one pic when I change fog lights.

 

That pic shows it perfectly, how difficult was it to remove? Would a normal plastic trim removal do the trick, or do you have to fish around with a long thin screwdriver, or?

 

To change the fog I used:
1) Trim removal tool to remove the side of the bumper to pull the fender liner a bit.

2) Regular Philip screw driver to remove the nut for the cover

3) Trim removal tool to release the inside clips of the bezel

4) Then a small Phillips screw driver to remove the 2 screws for the fog light.

Nice controlled firm grip to remove the bezels. Also little luck not to break any tabs.
