So I went to dealership for oil change (had a coupon on oil change). And with oil change, tires were included for a rotation.

    Cool. No biggies.

Drove it home (dealership is LITERALLY in my back yard).

Then tonight, went to town for supper, and there is a HORRIBLE sound coming from front end area. Granted there is still ice on the ground, and roads aren't the smoothest, BUT it was not making this sound before taking it in for oil change.

Me thinks it's the skid plate, and wasn't put back on correctly.

Sadly, the YT short doesn't really do the racket justice on how bad it sounds, but best I can do (no radio or heat on).

    Thoughts?

Aw man the notorious new mystery sound! Skid plate is a good guess. If it's not that it starts to drive you mad

This is why I'm doing as much myself as possible, they can keep the free oil. If something galls or strips I'll have only myself to blame.

The tire guy pulled all the tools and junk out of the cargo area trying to find the spare before I went out there to see what was taking so long.

Swapped on the Gobi awning mounts today and they're ok I suppose. For $200 I would rather see carriage bolts, rubber coating on the clamp surfaces, and deeper hooks to make removing/installing easier.

    decent size awning…270?

I’ve heard of like quick disconnect or rather easy on/off hooks for awnings

    however smaller size

been brainstorming a homemade version to use/not use awning easily for my 270

It's the bigger 180 version, so I wanted triple mounts for stability. Ironman and RaxBrax make somewhat universal QD mounts that would make it easier, but I can handle it myself within a few minutes so I'm good for now.

Some pics of the CalTrend seat covers. I like them so far. I'm in and out of my 4Runner multiple times a day so hopefully these will help protect the seats from wear/ damage etc.

I solved my issue with getting the left/right cushion strap through the driver's seat trim piece by removing the clip and fishing just the strap down. Then put the clip back on.

What hitch carrier is this? I’ve been looking at a few different ones and just haven’t been able to decide the route to go yet.

HuskyMike, Big question with the heated seats. Do the covers affect them at all? There is not much info out there where a lot have put them over the heated seats. I still like to put a set in my 23 Pro to protect them with getting in and out.

I'll test it today or tomorrow and get back to you. I've never actually used the heated seats yet, so I can't say I'll be able to compare before/ after but I'll be able to say whether or not they get warm (enough). I can also compare them to the ones in our uncovered Sienna.

They have a pretty thin foam backing (not a negative, just an observation) and the cordura is thin, so I don't think they'll have much impact. Back with you soon.

So made a short run to store & kept getting the Green "ECO" alert intermittenly. Looked it up in owners manual, don't get why I'm getting this now. Is there a setting I inadvertently turned on last night?:notsure:

My wife has heated seats/steering wheel in her BMW. Last night going out to dinner she said "my seat is cold" so I turned on the heated seats & she was happy! I didn't turn mine on cause I was still hot from messing W/broken Blue Steel Rope on my ATV winch When I was jus finished plowing & hot shower. I just used ratchet tie down to get it back to shed last night. pulled cable/rope out to day & got it ready to haul some fire wood to back slab tomorrow. I was too sweaty from wrestling to find the broken end to deal W/wind & cold to bring some down.

Yes, there's a setting to enable/disable the ECO light. It's in the menu in the gauge cluster.

I got tired of that damn light, too. Went through the menu and deleted it. One less annoyance.

The light lets' you know when you have a bit of a lead foot. No light, the 'puter thinks....to much gas pedal. "ECO" light, the 'puter thinks your doing O.K.

Yeah not sure how I turned it on last night BUT I want to turn it OFF!! When I see alerts I can't ignore them. Why I always have my lights as dim as possible when driving @ night .Just like night flying get's your attention when something isn't operating normal.

I suspect everyone would like the "ECO" warning if it simply flashed "POWER BOOST" instead.

I actually love the ECO light. I actively try driving in a manner so it stays on the longest. Unless I see a Tesla.

I wouldn’t even worry about them, i left mine in and there is no problem. They flatten right out, honestly call your shop or a shop and they will say the same, even RSG says it’s not a problem.
