VTECMoonWalker, wish I was rich also. My daughter and her husband paid for the trip on the Amazon. I bought the Nikon lense after selling our house in California and retiring to NM. It was expensive even though I bought it used. I used to use it all the time, but, as I get older (75), it gets heavier. My daughter thinks my wife and I need to travel more, so, they are taking us on another trip in Feb. This time it’s Egypt for 20 days.

Yes sir, I have no doubt it's heavy, crazy how much some of this camera stuff weighs, and costs.... CRAZY lol... yeah, traveling is deff not bad, I've only been to the main 48 states, but .. I'm grateful, I know some ppl never even leave their home state. Y.O.L.O..... get out and see things while you can, so many things, and so little time

I just got back in the house. My property goes back a ways. I love it when we get this kind of powdery snow.

Been thinking of dusting off my F1 and playing around with some film again. Love the tonality that only film can deliver.

Survived Satan's sky cocaine falling today. We got about 3-4 inches in NW MS today. We don't get snow like that this every winter. So it was pretty while it was falling. Now the real challenge is the ice it'll turn into.

    Bleh.

I shoot with an F100 and love it. Too bad film & development is expensive as f*ck or I'd shoot it more often - mostly for special occasions (like traveling). As you mention, the colors and grain with film hits on a different level compared to the digital world that consumes us

When color film got to be too expensive I switched to B/W just so that I could keep shooting. Had fun making a pinhole camera from Legos shooting Arista Ortho Litho 4x5 loaded into a double film back, turned the bathroom into a mini darkroom...loved how easy b/w was to work with!

Yeah, the zoom alone on the P1000 seems like it would be worth it in a lot of ways, especially with the shots you like to take. You're really going to have to use a tripod and remote release or timer though. It's ridiculous how much clearer shots are.

I have 2 tripods, never used either, usually I dont have time to set one up. The birds are always moving, the eagle nest I go to is on private property... not keeping me away lol.. right off the road so I can't set up there... plus I feel like a most of the birds move around to much, it would hinder getting on them in time.. or maybe not iono

I do know the pics would be better, deff keep the camera still....I just don't like to lug it around not knowing if I'll be able to use it ya know.... maybe I'll take it out next time though
