Will doing simple things like crawling over a curb on stock suspension of ORP mess up the truck?

Hello - considering purchasing a 5th gen ORP. Curious, if I don’t do any upgrades and just have it stock, can I off road without hurting the truck? Like, rolling over a curb to park on the grass, or riding through uneven terrain, etc.

Th stock suspension is fine for offroading. You hardly even notice curbs if cross them at a reasonable speed.

The 4Runner was designed for off-road as is. You don’t need an aftermarket suspension. Better tires would be a benefit though.

Lifting can add a couple of inches of ground clearance, but it comes at the price of losing suspension travel.

Absolutely yes. Stock 4Runners are very capable off-road. The idea that a bunch of expensive mods are necessary to get out and explore is a myth. Here’s just one of the many things I did with my 4th Gen before doing mods.

In fact, if you want to join an amazing group where you can learn everything you need to know, search Facebook for Venture Unknown. Their motto is Explore, Educate, Encourage. I just got back from an amazing event and it’s really a great group of people.

The mascot for the event I just attended is one of the most awesome I’ve ever seen. LOL

Heh, plenty of people drive over curbs in Camrys and Corollas.

Yes, not at 70 MPH of course. But plenty other vehicles are capable of mounting a curb.

They can handle a fair amount of off-roading stock. A better set of tires will get you even further. Some basic recovery gear is always a good idea, also.
