Opinions please: my sequential fog fangs, and kdss control dash switch both intermittently failing

Opinions please: my sequential fog fangs, and kdss control dash switch are both intermittently failing. My head's going to blow up if I think any longer, and any deeper into why? As far as I can remember without digging deep into my old installation posts yet, they're not tied even to the same sources. But evidently perhaps they are in the bigger picture somehow lol.

I can only assume it's not a coincidence because their operation is working then failing at the same time together. I was excited only yesterday because they magically both were functioning again

Fog fangsi believe tie into headlight drl, and blinker.
KDSS switch I believe draws from its oem style harness, and then ties into dash illumination wire.

The sequential fog fangs don't illuminate bright white, but still operate properly for the amber turn signal function..

I thought ok so it's just the drl tap failing all the sudden. But why the KDSS dash switch mmmm

I would disconnect/remove the fangs and see if the KDSS works normal without it first

 

the KDSS and power source for the lights themselves may not be the same source, BUT the switch light sources may be the same feeding back through the switches to those devices. Or the same with a bad ground to the switches maybe also.

 

I'm gonna follow this thread because I was JUST about to order those same fang from 4Runner Lifestyle.

Are they both tied to the same illumination source?

Ground not connected properly or dirty connection?

Ultimately I think products are solid, I think it's user error and "shotty work"
I remember f-ing struggling to achieve continuity with the T-taps at the time - was my first time installing T-taps. I was hoping I wouldn't have to open the dash behind the switches and get behind the fogs again this soon.

Second this in regards to verifying all initial connections.

 

Ladies and gentlemen,

I had this on the back burner. omg. Fixed the issue.
I had bumper off. Snipped some aftermarket wires to make it faster. None of that was a problem.

My dumbass didn't notice the piggy back fuse holder came loose in the cab, that was literally the problem.
Give me the virtual dunce cap.
4Runner Lifestyle Sequential Fogs, and KDSS kill switch are back in action.

You’re not the only one. I had a set of lights stop working, same deal. My boot had knocked it off. They’re pretty vulnerable under there.

 

@McSpazatron ahh your mistakes do make me feel better ! At least it's a happy ending. Easy lesson learned. I took the opportunity to try out a different one of the common fuse slots as well. Still don't see myself purchasing an extended fuse box cover.

What I have purchase is an SPC replacement balljoint kit. Wish me luck, I'm attempting tonight.
