Newbie here. Need your advice. Looking at buying either a New SR5 or a used 2022 Model (TRD Sport or Limited). Prices are about the same for a new bare bones SR5 and a used Limited. My concern is all the talk about the Xreas system issues and potential need of replacement. I test drove the TRD Sport and the ride with the 20 inch rims and the Xreas was much better than expected. Handling was great and body roll on turns were minimum. On the other hand buying new SR5 would not have an Xreas issue hanging over my head but no extras and more body roll on turns. What do you guys think?

Depends if you’re going off roading or not.

New SR5 if you are going to off road

Used Limited if not off roading

    Pass on the Sport

Not going off roading. Just plan to stay on the road to and from the golf course. Should I worry about the possible Xreas issues with the limited?

It may go eventually, but that wouldn't drive my decision. It's easy enough to replace with conventional shocks, and it won't happen for a while.

I prefer the Xreas. A warranty is about 1500 to 2k if you're really worried. Price is likely close enough that I'd get new between your options.

I agree with Dabigono. If you want to lift it and will go off-road often enough SR5. If not the limited does drive better in my opinion. I was facing the same question. It was an ORP or the limited on the lot. I drove both and picked the limited for its better ride as my off road is limited to light trails and dirt roads.

Highlander is the correct tool for that job.

Edit: or Lexus RX to really fit in at the country club.

Highlander AWD will be what you actually need. The 4runner looks cool, but...

Welcome. New 2024 vs used and maybe abused 2022, I would always go new. Buy within your budget. If it's stretching that budget, save a larger down payment and buy in a few months.

Yep, lot of compromise here to be had in a 4Runner if the trail capability or truckiness isn’t desired. A chunk of change can definitely be saved going Highlander too.

If not a 4Runner, a ‘19 Highlander was also on my shopping list.
